The Aromatherapy Book
Applications and Inhalations
Jeanne Rose
$18.95
Aromatherapy itself refers to the therapeutic use of aromatic
substances. I like to think of the volatile oils of plants
as nature's homeopathic preparations. Jeanne Rose has gathered
together an encyclopedia of information about the art of aromatherapy,
its history, physiological pathways, therapeutic and personal
use. This book is so complete (and so enjoyably written) that
in my mind it stands as the focal resource for this healing
art. Outstanding - best in the field!!
Gattefossé's Aromatherapy
René-Maurice Gattefossé

If you read Jeanne Rose's The Aromatherapy Book, you
will run into many references to Gattefossé's Aromatherapy.
This was the book that started it all, and it's an amazing
reference. Gattefossé was a chemist who inherited his
family's perfumery and dove headlong into discovering the
therapeutic uses of essential oils. He coined the term "aromatherapy"
and published his findings in this book in 1937. Aromatherapy
was promptly lost from collective consciousness and remained
that way until Jean Rose found it again in 1990, gathering
copious amounts of dust in a handful of large reference libraries.
One thing led to another, and here it is, in English, for
your discovery.
