NEW EDITION! These individual posters show the basic
framework of the Waldorf school curriculum as it was
given in 1919 and has been developed since. It is an
inspiring array of subject development which may be used
and developed further by Waldorf teachers.
Each grade has brief information for what is taught
in each subject. Excellent resource for homeschooling.
Very small type. Price includes $2.50 for shipping separately
within the USA. Up to 5 charts in one tube. If you are
ordering more than one, we will discount the price after
your order is submitted. If you are ordering internationally,
you will be charged exact postage - we will adjust your
total at our office.
Bob and I are especially pleased with the addition in
the heading stating that "These course descriptions
present possibilities for teacher to expand upon." Those
of you who have known us over the years know that we
have previously been a good deal less than supportive
of this and other curriculum charts, as our experience
and observation had been that they reinforced the trend
of setting the 1919 Stuttgart curriculum in stone for
all times and all places. In our view, this was to miss
the point of Steiner's pedagogical direction (he did
say in several instances that the curriculum would necessarily
be different for different students in different places)
and to limit the teaching menu to an educational diet
which is not, in fact, always the best choice in all
situations.
The new curriculum chart, however, in addition to retaining
the breathtaking overview of the scope and depth of Waldorf
education and being much more readable than the original,
allows itself to be seen as an array of possibilities,
which we can support wholeheartedly. We congratulate
AWSNA for recreating this chart in a beautiful and living
way.
